Welcome to "What I'm Liking Lately"
Every week I’ll be listing 3 things I’m liking lately. No rules, no categories- just whatever I’m liking at that time! So without further ado, here are a few things I’ve been liking as 2023 ends and we head toward a brand new year.
1. Laura Geller blush
This blush (the Laura Geller Baked Blush-n-Brighten Marbleized Blush in the shade Tropic Hues) was a gift I received for Christmas and I love it! It’s a beautiful color and very blendable. I love a shimmery blush, and this one’s satin finish gives off a nice glow. So, if you’re a matte blush lover, I may skip on this one and pick another shade from the collection with a different finish. But for all of my pearly blush lovers, this one is for you! It also works really well as a topper over a liquid or cream blush, like this one from Rare Beauty.
2. Reading before bed
Lately I have been really liking reading a book or magazine before bed as an alternative to mindless scrolling on my phone or even watching TV. There are definitely still apps that I love to scroll through (like Pinterest!!!), but I feel like reading right before bed is a bit more calming and helps me fall asleep easier. As we begin the new year, I’m thinking this will be a good habit to help me reach my 60 book reading goal for 2024.
My current read? I just started Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I feel like everyone has read this book except me! It has even been turned into a series on Apple TV+ already (which I have not watched yet). I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about.
3. Planning for the new year
I love a good planner, and for me it has to be a physical planner that I can write in (for some reason I just don’t do as well planning on my phone or iPad). For 2024, I am using this planner by Lilly Pulitzer in the Calypso Coast pattern. I used a very, very similar one during 2023 from the same brand. I really like writing out daily to-do lists, so I appreciate the lines in the weekly planning section and horizontal format. I also love the design and all the bright pops of color throughout the planner. Overall, it’s a 10/10 for me!
