Hello and happy Super Bowl Eve for those who celebrate! We’ll definitely be watching the game tomorrow, likely snacking on these dill pickle roll-ups. Yum!
Anyway, let’s get into what I’ve been liking this week…
Here's what I've been liking lately...
1. The Tortured Poets Department
If you read last week’s “What I’m Liking Lately”, then you know that I have been waiting patiently for Taylor Swift to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version). Thanks to my Twitter timeline, I was absolutely, 100% convinced that she would announce it at the Grammys on Sunday. Then she won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album of the Year and announced a brand new album instead! I guess I’ll just have to listen to this Reputation-themed playlist until we are graced with her new version. No complaints here though. I will never, ever turn down new music from Ms. Swift.
Her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, is available now for preorder and will be released on April 19th. In case you missed it, Taylor released the tracklist for the album only one day after announcing it at the Grammy’s. Here it is:
- “Fortnight” (feat. Post Malone)
- “The Tortured Poets Department”
- “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”
- “Down Bad”
- “So Long, London”
- “But Daddy I Love Him”
- “Fresh Out the Slammer”
- “Florida!!!” (feat. Florence + The Machine)
- “Guilty as Sin?”
- “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”
- “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”
- “loml”
- “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”
- “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”
- “The Alchemy”
- “Clara Bow”
- Bonus Track: “The Manuscript”
I am definitely looking forward to listening to her collabs with Post Malone and Florence + The Machine, both of whom I love. It will also be interesting to hear “So Long, London”, which will likely have a much different tone than “London Boy” from Lover. It is a track 5 after all, and those are typically some of Taylor’s saddest and most emotional songs on her records (“All Too Well”, “The Archer”, “tolerate it”, and “You’re on Your Own Kid” are all track 5 songs as well). However, if I am being honest, I am excited to listen to every song on the new album!
2. Easy-Peasy Peanut Butter Oat Bars
Switching gears here- I made these super easy oat bars this week, and they are always such a good snack/dessert. Plus, they are so easy to make (no baking required!) and you only need four ingredients- oats, peanut butter, honey, and chocolate chips.
3. James Clear's 3-2-1 Newsletter
Remember Atomic Habits, the self-help book that went extremely viral a couple years ago? That’s a page from it up above. The author, James Clear, sends out a weekly email newsletter called “3-2-1” every Thursday. The whole premise is that the newsletter always includes 3 ideas from Clear, 2 quotes from other people, and 1 question for readers to contemplate.
I recently subscribed and I really like the format! It’s short and to the point, but contains valuable info and insights. Click here to read this week’s newsletter.
