Hello, and happy weekend! It’s starting to look and feel like spring here (fingers crossed we won’t see any more snow). While it’s still much too chilly at night for planting anything outdoors, we have started some Dahlia tubers inside. I am happy to report that most of them are happy and growing quickly!

Moving out of the garden and into the kitchen, let’s get into what I have been liking this week- including a highly anticipated book and some cooking shows.

Here's what I've been liking lately...

1. Ina Garten's Memoir

I grew up watching Ina Garten, also known as the Barefoot Contessa, on Food Network. We quote her frequently in this house (“How easy is that?”) and refer to ingredients as “good” in jest (like this “good” vanilla that you can shop for on Amazon). Her yummy recipes, signature style, Hamptons home, perfectly manicured gardens, fun friends- really everything about Ina is pretty iconic in my opinion.

That’s why I was thrilled to find out that Ina has written a memoir, which will come out in early October. Evidently, it will include stories ranging from her childhood to meeting Jeffrey to all of the success she has experienced since then. I can’t wait to read it!

2. Be My Guest

Speaking of the one and only Barefoot Contessa, the new season of her show Be My Guest with Ina Garten premiered this week. In each episode, Ina invites a special guest to her home where they cook and chat. Some of my favorite guests from past seasons have been Faith Hill, Misty Copeland, and Emily Blunt. This new season kicked off with Jennifer Garner joining Ina in the kitchen.

You can stream Be My Guest on Discovery+ or watch on Sunday mornings on Food Network.

3. 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing

Staying on the topic of cooking shows, I have been really liking 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing. Hosted by Michael Symon and Esther Choi, this show is a little bit of a different take on a cooking competition. Twenty-four chefs face various culinary challenges over the course of 24 hours to win a $50,000 prize. No breaks, no coming back the next day to continue the competition- just 24 hours of competition with only one winner.

You can stream 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing on Max or watch on Sunday nights on Food Network.
