My Journaling Favorites

I’ve been journaling for a long time, and I think it’s a great way to capture memories, reflect, plan for the future, and unleash creativity. Today I’m listing some of my favorite items to use for journaling, from the discbound journal that I absolutely love to the markers I’ve used for years and a mini picture printer for more scrapbook-ish pages. Read on for all my favorites!

My Journal

I use this exact Talia discbound notebook as my journal and I love the flexibility it provides. You can easily move pages around, add extra paper if you need it, and insert dividers wherever you want them. Plus, Talia notebooks are really durable- I typically use mine for about 1 1/2 to 2 years before starting a new one.

This notebook also comes with some planner pages, stickers, and a fabric case. I use a separate planner but if you’d like to create a kind of planner/journal hybrid, this set is perfect. Lastly, you can also purchase different discs if the silver ones aren’t up your alley, or if you’d like to size up to fit more pages.

My Favorite Pens

Doesn’t every journal or planner lover have a favorite kind of pen? These extra fine point ones from Pilot are mine- always have been, always will be.

The Best Markers

I love these Stabilo markers because they are super pigmented, come in beautiful colors, and do not bleed through to the other side of the page. They also last a long time as long as you keep the caps on properly, so they’re definitely worth the price!

Nelko Label Maker

I label tabs in my journal using this little label maker, but it comes in handy for a lot of other things as well. To use it just download the Nelko app, connect to the printer using Bluetooth, design your label, and then print it within seconds (I mean literal seconds- it prints very quickly).

I also love how compact the P21 label maker is- it’s about the size of my iPhone, just a bit shorter. I highly recommend grabbing a case for the printer, so you can easily store different rolls of labels, the charger, etc.

Washi Tape

Washi tape is the easiest and quickest way to add some character to a page, and I love these different kits with all kinds of colors and patterns.

Washi Stickers

If you want to add aesthetic pictures and patterns to your journal pages without having to print out a bunch of mini images, these washi stickers may be for you. There are a ton of different themed packs out there but I love both of the ones below. If you’re a fan of scrapbooking in your journal these are a must-have!

Happy Planner Sticker Packs

These Happy Planner stickers aren’t just for use in the company’s planners. There are a ton of cute stickers you can add to your journal pages for a little pizzazz. I love the seasonal pack below, but make sure to browse all of the sticker packs- there are so many to choose from!

Kodak Mini Printer

Of course, you can look through pictures on your phone whenever you want, but there’s something special about printing them out and capturing memories on a physical page. I have a mini printer from Kodak similar to the one below (just a bit of an older model) and I love it. The printer and the app are super easy to use, and the quality of the printed pictures is great.

P.S. This would make a great Christmas or birthday present for any crafty person in your life!

Scrapbook Tape

Tape rollers like these are so convenient for sticking pictures, decorations, and other mementos into your journal- way easier than plain old tape!
