Gilmore Girls is the one show you absolutely must watch during fall- I don’t make the rules (but I do follow them). Turn on any episode and you’ll be immediately transported to the quaint town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The fall episodes are especially cozy, with pumpkins and hay bales dotting every street corner, the town’s annual fall festival on display, and Lorelai and Rory sporting the cutest layered fall looks.

1. Sherpa-Lined Jackets
Both Rory and Lorelai wear a lot of sherpa-lined jackets throughout the series, alternating between denim and corduroy styles. Personally, I like the denim a bit better and this Levi’s jacket looks almost identical to some of the jackets Lorelai wore.

2. Uggs
What goes around comes right back around! Like many of us today, Rory was also wearing Uggs in the fall during the early seasons of Gilmore Girls. The shorter versions of the iconic ultra-comfy and cozy boots are super popular now.

3. The 'Rory' Sweater
If you’ve watched the show then you know exactly what I’m talking about- the cream cable knit sweater Rory wears in the very first episode. You can practically hear those iconic “lalala’s” when you see a sweater like this, and the one below looks as identical to Rory’s as you’re going to get.

4. A (Faux) Leather Blazer
One thing about the Gilmore girls is that they love a layered look. As seen in the post above, a leather blazer is key to a lot of Lorelai’s fall fits.

5. Turtlenecks
Another well-loved layering staple, turtleneck shirts are worn a lot throughout the seasons on Gilmore Girls. Lorelai and Rory also regularly wear turtleneck sweaters, and I love the burgundy one below. It’s super soft and the color is perfect for fall.

6. A Good Pair of Jeans
The Gilmore girls wear a lot of denim throughout the series and if you take a look at many of Lorelai’s jeans, you might spot what looks like a Levi’s patch- a brand that has definitely stood the test of time. Bootcut jeans were also clearly Lorelai’s favorite style, similar to the ones below.

7. Trench Coat
As the weather becomes chillier and chiller in Stars Hollow, Lorelai and Rory love adding a fashionable winter coat to their look. Let’s be honest, a good trench coat is timeless, so it’ll look just as good now as when the show aired in 2000.

9. Heeled Boots
Heeled boots are a favorite of Lorelai’s, whether paired with a skirt and top for work or a dress for a trip to Hartford for Friday night dinner. These Steve Madden boots look super similar to some of Lorelai’s and also come in a pretty brown color if that’s more up your alley.
