“Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller”

(Season 5, Episode 1)

After a very eventful season 4 finale for Luke and Lorelai, the two finally discuss their kiss on the Dragonfly Inn’s porch. However, before they can get together for a date, Luke is called away to help Liz and TJ with their Ren Faire booth after they are both injured.

“Written in the Stars”

(Season 5, Episode 3)

Luke, now back in Stars Hollow, takes Lorelai out on their very first date as an official couple to one of his very favorite restaurants (Luke has a Luke’s!). It’s there that Luke reveals he has kept the horoscope Lorelai gave him on the day they met for 8 years in his wallet… yes, 8 whole years.

“We Got Us a Pippi Virgin”

(Season 5, Episode 5)

Now that Dean and Rory are back together (that’s a whole other story!), they double date with Lorelai and Luke. The date night goes okay… until it doesn’t. Luke still doesn’t trust that Dean is the right guy for Rory, which leads to an awkwardly aggressive game of Bop It! in the Gilmore living room.

“You Jump, I Jump, Jack”

(Season 5, Episode 7)

Despite Lorelai expressing her concerns, Luke attends Friday Night Dinner with her and ends up enduring all kinds of backhanded compliments and straight-up insults from Emily. Luke, still wanting to get along with the Gilmores, goes golfing with Richard.

“Emily Says Hello”

(Season 5, Episode 9)

Luke is helping TJ out with some plumbing problems at his new house, while Lorelai has lunch with Christopher and Rory at the Dragonfly Inn. After the lunch goes a bit awry, Lorelai feels guilty for keeping it from Luke. She eventually tells him and he feigns ambivalence, but you can tell he is bothered by Christopher’s presence in Lorelai’s life.

“Wedding Bell Blues”

(Season 5, Episode 13)

After a slightly tumultuous last few episodes for Luke and Lorelai, their issues come to a head at Richard and Emily’s vow renewal. Christopher, spurred on by Emily’s advice, wants to get back together with Lorelai. Luke obviously takes issue with this and the entire thing explodes when they find Rory and Logan in a room upstairs at the reception.

“Say Something”

(Season 5, Episode 14)

Lorelai is heartbroken after her breakup with Luke, so Rory comes home from school to watch after her. Meanwhile, Tayor has all of Stars Hollow formally taking sides in the breakup.

“So… Good Talk”

(Season 5, Episode 16)

Regretting her meddling in Lorelai’s love life, Emily visits the diner to speak with Luke. At the very end of the episode, Luke heads over to Lorelai’s house and the two make up. But, did you really have any doubts? These two are clearly meant to be together.

“Pulp Friction”

(Season 5, Episode 17)

Now that they are back together, Lorelai makes her formal return to the diner for coffee in the morning. The two also have their very first date after the breakup.

“But I’m a Gilmore!”

(Season 5, Episode 19)

After Sookie is put on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy, Lorelai is left without a Head Chef at the inn. Luke comes to the rescue, filling in for Sookie and dealing with her sneaky spying tactics that interfere with his cooking.

“How Many Kropogs to Cape Cod?”

(Season 5, Episode 20)

Much to Luke’s delight, Taylor decides to shut down the museum and sell the Twickum House, which Luke wants to purchase for himself and Lorelai. However, Lorelai has mixed feelings about a potential move.

Lorelai suspects she may be pregnant when she has a sudden craving for apples. But is she ready for a baby with Luke?

“A House Is Not a Home”

(Season 5, Episode 22)

Rory lets her mom know that she will be leaving Yale, eliciting a less-than-positive reaction from Lorelai. After turning to Luke for help with the situation, Lorelai realizes just how much he cares for both her and Rory. She is so moved that she asks him to marry her and he immediately agrees.
