Looking for a festive and colorful way to brighten up your Easter tablescape? Try this easy-to-assemble Easter Peeps centerpiece! Layers of Peeps bunnies, M&Ms, and Easter grass add some extra festive cheer to an already beautiful bunch of fresh flowers. Whether you’re hosting an Easter brunch, decorating for a family gathering, or just love a fun DIY project, this easy centerpiece is for you!

Here’s What You’ll Need…

A trifle dish, plus another dish to nest within it: You’ll need a large clear glass trifle dish—I prefer a footed one with straight sides. Then, you’ll need a slightly smaller dish/container/vase to nest inside the trifle dish that will leave a 1.5″-2″ gap (a bit larger than the width of a Peeps bunny) between the two.

Easter grass: Pick your favorite color! Depending on the size of your dish, you might need a couple bags to fill up the bottom of this centerpiece. I recommend packing the grass when placing it in the dish so as to prevent the M&Ms from falling into any gaps.

Pastel M&Ms: Or jelly beans—your choice!

Peeps bunnies: The pink ones are my personal favorite, but pick whatever color you like! I use 2 packs (8 Peeps each) for this centerpiece, but the quantity you need will obviously depend on the size of the dish you’re using.

Easter Centerpiece With Tulips

Flowers: Tulips (seen above) or a mix of colorful spring flowers will look beautiful in this centerpiece. If you are using a particularly large dish, you might consider nesting an even smaller jar or container in the very middle of the centerpiece to make it easier to arrange the flowers without them flopping over. Or, you might want to use some floral foam to keep them in place.

More Ideas For This Centerpiece:

  • Use multiple colors of Peeps bunnies, alternating them as you add them to the centerpiece.
  • Skip the M&Ms and create two layers of different colored Easter Peeps.
  • Use jelly beans, mini Cadbury eggs, Whoppers Robin Eggs, or another colorful Easter candy in place of the M&Ms.

Equipment (Shop on Amazon)

Materials

  • 1 large clear glass trifle dish
  • 1 smaller bowl, dish, vase, or container that will nest within the trifle dish, leaving a 1.5"-2" gap between the two dishes
  • 2 packs Peeps bunnies (about 16 total; # needed may vary depending on the size of the trifle dish you are using)
  • Pastel Easter M&Ms I use 2 small bags
  • Easter grass (1-2 bags, depending on size of bowl and amount of grass included)
  • Flowers of choice
  • 1 Mason Jar optional
  • Floral foam optional

Instructions

  • Nest the smaller bowl, dish, vase, or container within the trifle dish, which should leave a 1.5"-2" gap between the two dishes.
  • Pack Easter grass in this gap until it fills the bottom ⅓ of the trifle dish. You'll likely have to poke it with scissors or a long skewer to get it to lay the way you want it and to create the appearance of an even layer. Make sure you use a generous amount of grass so the M&Ms do not immediately fall into any gaps.
  • Now, pour the M&Ms into the gap to create an even layer on top of the Easter grass. Again you may need to move some of the candies around to create the appearance of a perfectly even layer.
  • Now it's time for the Peeps! Add the Peeps bunnies to the very top of the trifle dish--they can even stick out a little bit (which might help hide the inner dish). I use two 8-packs of pink Peeps bunnies, but the number needed may differ depending on your specific trifle dish.
  • Arrange your flowers in the smaller container in the center. Depending on the size dishes you are using, it may be helpful to nest an even smaller jar or container in the very middle of the centerpiece to make sure the flowers sit nicely and don't flop over. Or, you may find floral foam helpful in arranging the flowers.
  • Add this centerpiece to your Easter table and enjoy! When adding water to the container holding the flowers, be careful to not pour any within the gap holding the Easter grass and candy. It can make the candies bleed color and make quite a sticky mess (speaking from experience).
