Every Gilmore Girls Episode You Should Watch This Winter

Gilmore Girls fall is just about over, which means it's time to prepare for Gilmore Girls winter.

I know it’s technically still October, but I’m already shifting into holiday mode. This means I want to watch wintery, cozy episodes of my favorite shows, including Gilmore Girls. So, if you’re also in the mood to see some snowy Stars Hollow action check out these episodes.

"Love and War and Snow"
(Season 1, Episode 8)

Season one includes a few winter episodes, starting with this one. We learn just how much Lorelai loves snow, Rory is stranded at her grandparents’ house by a snowstorm, and the town reenacts a Revolutionary War battle.

"Rory's Dance"
(Season 1, Episode 9)

Rory attends a winter formal dance at Chilton with Dean, while Lorelai spends some quality time with Emily. Unfortunately the nights goes awry, but at least the setting is snowy and cozy.

"Forgiveness and Stuff"
(Season 1, Episode 10)

Lorelai is uninvited to her parents’ annual Christmas bash and Luke makes her a Santa burger to cheer her up. However, they both rush to the hospital after Lorelai’s dad collapses at the party. Everything in this episode screams winter and, as a Luke and Lorelai fan, this is one of my favorite episodes.

"The Bracebridge Dinner"
(Season 2, Episode 10)

The town gathers at the Independence Inn for an Old English themed formal dinner cooked by Sookie, followed by horse-drawn sleigh rides. The clothes, the dinner, the snowmen (or “snowwomen”)- everything is just so cozy, making this the perfect episode to watch during the winter.

"Secrets and Loans"
(Season 2, Episode 11)

On a snowy morning Lorelai walks out onto her deck and her foot goes right through the wood. Kirk tells her that there is significant termite damage, and Lorelai has to figure out a way to pay to fix it (hint: Emily is involved).

"That'll Do Pig"
(Season 3, Episode 10)

This episode features the Stars Hollow Winter Carnival, which Rory attends with Jess and Dean. At the same time, the reigning Lorelai (a.k.a. Richard’s mother) decides to move back to the States. Let’s just say Emily is not happy about that one!

"In the Clamor and the Clangor"
(Season 4, Episode 11)

The church bells are driving everyone in town crazy, and Lorelai is upset that Luke is moving away from Stars Hollow. At the same time, Rory deals with some campus gossip, and Lane’s band lands a late night gig at a New York club.

"Women of Questionable Morals"
(Season 5, Episode 11)

When Lorelai’s feelings about snow begin to sour, Luke builds her an ice rink to cheer her up. Meanwhile, Christopher goes to Yale to reconcile with Rory, which doesn’t go well.

"Just Like Gwen and Gavin"
(Season 6, Episode 12)

It’s Winter Carnival time again, and this time Kirk is organizing it. April spends a day at Luke’s, while Logan tries to make up with Rory by sending her a coffee cart.

"Merry Fisticuffs"
(Season 7, Episode 10)

Christopher thinks Lorelai is having doubts about their marriage and Logan realizes Rory and Marty have been pretending to not know each other. However the highlight of this episode is, of course, the brawl between Luke and Christopher amongst the Stars Hollow Christmas decorations.

"Santa's Secret Stuff"
(Season 7, Episode 11)

Rory and Lorelai celebrate Christmas a bit late since Rory was in London on the actual holiday. Luke asks Lorelai to write a character reference for him, and Lorelai delivers her famous “monkey monkey underpants” monologue. This is probably the most Christmas-y Lorelai’s house looks over the seasons, making this a perfect holiday episode to watch.

"To Whom It May Concern"
(Season 7, Episode 12)

This episode may not be as Christmas-themed as the last, but Stars Hollow is still very snowy when Christopher finds the letter Lorelai wrote for Luke. Rory also makes up with Lucy, with some help from Paris.

And that's it! Pin the image below to save this list for later.
