How are we almost halfway through January? To me, this week has felt like the real start to the New Year, probably because we started packing away Christmas decorations.
Earlier this week I finished my first book of 2024, which was Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Next up I’d like to tackle the Beartown series by Fredrik Backman (seen above), which I’m crossing my fingers I’ll like. I also really enjoyed reflecting on some of my favorite books of 2023 this week. It made me even more excited to read more this year! Here are a few other things I’ve been liking this week.
1. New Year's Cleaning
The start of a new year is a great time to clean up your space, which has been a major focus of mine this week. As I mentioned, we’ve been taking down and packing away Christmas decorations this week, which has left the house feeling a bit more empty in certain places. However, everything feels fresh and clean for a new year, which is nice. I always feel better and more productive when my space is clean. Next up for me is going through my closet- wish me luck!
Another week, another Laura Geller product that I’m loving. This palette is a collection of baked eyeshadows, highlighters, a body frosting, and a blush. I love a glowy makeup look, so unsurprisingly I’ve been loving this palette. The blush is a beautiful shade and perfect for creating that “cold girl” makeup look, even though it’s been cold enough here that it really isn’t necessary! The highlighters and eyeshadows are also beautiful and very blendable. It is a really great palette if you are a neutral lover (like me!) when it comes to makeup.
3. Journaling
We’re almost two weeks into the new year, and I have been journaling quite a bit to start off my year. I started the new year with a fresh, new journal and have been using some New Year’s prompts to set my intentions for the year. I’ve also set up some monthly pages for January, and have started journaling more on a daily basis. One of my goals for 2024 is to journal more often, and I think I’m off to a good start!
