What I'm Liking Lately 4.13.24 Cover Image - Pink Flowers

Hello, and welcome back to yet another round up of what I’ve been liking lately! We’re going a little all over the place for this one- from books to clothes to my favorite sweet treat this week. Let’s dive in…

Here's what I've been liking lately...

1. Funny Story by Emily Henry Release

Any Emily Henry fans out there likely already know that her newest release is coming in only about a week and a half, on April 23rd. I am not one of those lucky people who were able to read an ARC of the book, so I’ll be waiting for the release date to read Henry’s newest novel. Funny Story looks like it will be a kind of opposites attract story, in which two people whose exes dumped them for each other end up rooming together.

I have some very high expectations for Funny Story since I have loved every single Emily Henry book I’ve read. My favorite thing about Henry’s writing is how she creates depth in stories built upon somewhat stereotypical romance tropes- the title Beach Read even cheekily pokes fun at how people perceive the genre. Henry gave Happy Place that kind of emotional depth, which is why it made it on to my list of favorite books of 2023 (honestly, it was my #1 favorite, don’t tell the other books). I’m hoping Funny Story will be on 2024’s list!

You can preorder Funny Story by Emily Henry on Amazon

You can also shop Henry’s other novels, People We Meet on Vacation, Beach Read, Book Lovers, and Happy Place, on Amazon.

2. GYM PEOPLE Pullover

This half-zip crop pullover sweatshirt on Amazon is one of my new favorites. I have it in pink and the color is cute and bright- which I love! It’s a perfect winter-to-spring transition piece for me because it’s warm enough to wear out (it’s still pretty windy/chilly here) but the color is bright and springy.

3. Flourless Mini Peanut Butter Cookies

Yes, I said flourless! These mini peanut butter cookies only require 5 ingredients and can be whipped up super quickly. They are a perfect snack size, soft, peanut buttery, and yummy- one of my favorite quick desserts!
